Baby You're So Classic// A Styled Wedding Session

Monday, July 14, 2014

We woke up at 6 AM on Wednesday June 25th with one goal for the day: To recreate the beauty, emotion, and just plain down raw affection that magically happens on a couples wedding day. Something that you may be tempted to try when you are as in love with weddings as we are. Not only have we seen this happen behind the camera many times, but we have lived that day...and it's a day we still talk about with no small amount of fuzzy feelings.
On the other hand, we realized that we were set out to do something that really could not be done. You can assemble the flowers, set the table, pick the dress, and perfect the hair, but you cannot duplicate the way a man and a woman look at each other on the day of their wedding. You can only come close, and that was our goal.

Our second goal for the photo shoot was to get better acquainted with some of the wedding vendors that come from right here in Lancaster City. Let me just say, we were completely blown away! The professionalism and camaraderie was second to none. Lancaster is known for many things...Booming food scene, top notch farming, great shopping, Amish, and (unfortunately) TV shows about Amish. However, after working with the vendors we did, (see the full list and more info on each one below) I have full confidence that Lancaster will continue to climb the list of viable wedding destinations in the East.
Finally, it was our goal to create a shoot to showcase a style the we feel fits our brand and talents to a T. That is, the three words we first put to paper as we started to build Ali & Paul Co.
Natural. Romantic. Artistic.

Get The Style
Hands down one of the most gorgeous, graceful estates in the area, centered around the historic plantation house, and a beautiful historic barn (with AC. Very important detail on the 90+ degree day we shot this session) The grounds that surround the buildings are absolutely dreamy, definitely a must see if you are looking for a host for your special day.

Dresses: In White
One of the best bridal boutiques in the are, Shari from In White was SO instrumental in bringing this day to pass. We were blown away by not only their selection, but their style advice as we picked the perfect dress. Great experience.

They make this part of it simple. This is a very good thing when your dealing with groomsmen. Amazing selection, great communication. Get the classic blue tux.

Not the first time we have dealt with Rose at Rohrer Family Farm, certainly won't be the last. The arrangements are so well put together, and so fresh! Great ideas, and an amazing team, they put together some show stopping displays. (We had their flowers at our bridal booth once...I don't think anyone noticed us. They just drooled over the arrangement on our table.) Stop by and see Rose at Lancaster Central Market.

The inside of their salon alone would be fit for a high-end wedding reception, they certainly know their stuff when it comes to style. Our stylist (Brittany) was patient and talented, and nailed the look we were going for.

With just a brief description and a few pictures to go off of, Amanda gave our model the perfect glow. She listened so well, and we were amazed at how quick she was. SUCH a sweet lady,
highly recommended.

Invitations, Dinnerware/Stemware, Menu: Details // Style For Living
Details in downtown Lancaster were super helpful, and played a huge role in how the shoot looked. First of all, huge selection of amazing bridal table dinner ware, but also gorgeous custom stationary. A must stop for a bride.

Tables and Furniture: Old Barn Star
I may have been a little over-the-top excited when Mike and Tracy pulled into the Plantation with a trailer full of reclaimed wood furniture. They truly create masterpieces. So many variations and styles, they are artists in their own right. The best part? They RENT these gorgeous tables to couples that want a rustic, beautiful, and truly unique feel to their wedding.

Cake: Rosies Creative Cakes
Rosie did such a beautiful job on the cake! She was so busy but still willingly participated. I love that she has her business at her home and it's such a warm atmosphere! Let her know what your dream cake is and I know she will nail it every time.

A very special thank you to Saray Hollinger & her husband, Daniel Hollinger, for being our models for the day! They were SO down to earth, sweet and professional and I love the way they look at each other and willingly love on each other in front of the camera. They were total naturals and added so much to our end result. Also, they never once complained about the abundance of bugs and heat and that makes our job so much easier! You guys rock!

The day couldn't have gone any better and we can't thank everyone enough for being so willing to pitch in!
